Default Tourqe arm umi or spohn

Hi I am thinking of ordering a short tourqe arm soon and want one that bolts on. I have read other threads of where spohns can bottom out but the quality is great. This is alot of money to me maybe not to some people but to me so I want to make the right choice! So umi or spohn?

No experience with the Spohn, but really positive experience with the UMI.

The one that will bottom out is anyones that has the drop for the Y-pipe. Ive got a Spohn with the drop when I had SLPs LTs and it did occasionaly hit. Now Ive got dual exhaust the straight one will offer better clearance. I am a little lowered with strano rear springs and Adj QA1 up front.

Spohn users, do you have a problem with your chassis-mounted TQ arm being loud? Clunking and what not? I have an M6, if that matters.

I have a M6 also. when I had my Spohn on-with the rod ends(or heim joints) on the front. I was also running thier adj LCA poly/rod end too. I have a moser 12 bolt also-anyway I did some clunking, I fabricated better hardware for the rear and cut a old radiator hose for a gaskit between the body and TQ arm. If yours is clunking badly check your rodends for excessive play and jamnut tight. I think radial play is around.020 and axial is .030-.035 for most rodends. I can have that backwards. If mine got to loose I had access to a staking kit and "tightend" them up.

Camarojunky74 has experience with UMI (T/A and LCAs) and he says he would not ever buy another product from them, the TA didn't do a thing except bang against everything under the car and scrape on every and any bump. I like spohn better myself so thats what I would go with. But if you want to hear honestly about UMI products PM Camarojunky74

i've had both and honestly, i think all the torque arms out there could use a little more r and d. the spohn was really noisy and clicked/clunked every time you were on and off the throttle. it had the helm joint on the front link which was probably what caused it. the crossmember also hung VERY low and hit everything. I got a UMI one and it was very quiet and the crossmember did not scrape. it did bust a hole into my my tunnel because of the larger rear bracket that mounted to the rear end. then it eventually broke... but ryan took care of it. so currently, i am still using the UMI.

It sounds like Camarojunky74 wants a suspension to handle a 9 second race car but wants his car to ride like a Cadillac. When you start modifying vehicles and adding items designed to with stand 1000+ HP some noise vibrations can be expected. I think if Camarojunky74 would have called us and discussed his application and concerns before purchasing the item we would have recommended a more street-able item. Also a lowered vehicle and exhaust set-up has a major effect on what torque arm to purchase.

If you have any questions regarding our product line please ask and I will be glad to help.

Thank you!
Ryan
