flare on hard lines

flare on hard lines
Ok, let's say I was an idiot and didn't realize the flare nut bolt on the hard line brake connector was reverse thread so I overtorqued it tightening it and ruined the bolt.
I eventually got it off but now the bolt won't screw into my new brake line because the ending of it is warped.
I have another bolt that works but no way to swap it out of course. Can I cut off the bubble flare to change the bolt and then make a new ending/flare for the line? How would I do this? I've never done anything like this before so I'm not sure what tools I would need or how to go about it.
thanks for any help

Yes you can do it, however be sure too leave enough length to reach the intended spot. You'll need a tubing cutter and a flaring tool....you might be able to rent them from a parts store or purchase them fairly easily and cheaply.
