WTB Big Block Chevy!!! I just blew my sbc up and I want to build a bbc for my 3rd gen, it needs to have a forged bottom end and preferably a 4-bolt main with a forged crank. Im open to just about anything so if anyone has a bbc or knows where to buy one please help me out. Im looking to spend no more than $3k right now for either a short block or complete motor. Im starting from the ground up on this one so let me know what yall have.

my buddy has this for sale, he is wanting $4,000 for it complete carb to pan, you might could work something out omitting a few things to get it in your price range. I copy/pasted from a local board it is listed on. Located in western KY, but is open to shipping, its a hell of a motor for the money. Still in the car, ran it last week.

468 BBC, cast iron Bill Grumpy Jenkins Merlin heads, TRW forged pistons, H beam rods, Forged crank, 4 bolt main, Complete comp cams valvetrain(mech solid roller), Comp Stud Girdle, Dart intake, 950 Holley Double pumper, MSD ingnition w/ Digital 6AL (pro billet dist.) Elec water pump.
Motor is in my car now so you can hear it run. It went 6.92 @104 in the 1/8th and I think it's got a little more than that in it. I'm in Paducah and I might part out if I have enough people wanting everything.

I got a 468 CID 1972 GM 4 bolt main, steel crank, forged piston TRW, with Milidon pan,windage tray, oil pump balancer, timing cover, Crane Cam solid roller .600 lift and Billet timing set SFI flexplate and more
less heads ready to run made 630 HP iron oval port & 735 HP with alum GM SQ port stock heads Balanced and blueprinted.

I can order a fully forged and assembled short block from cncmotorsports.com for like $4300 and those can be as big as 600ci. Drop another $5k into the top end and misc. stuff and Ill have a 800hp N/A pump gas motor for under $10 with all new parts, and they use a Dart block. I can have enough cash to do that by income tax time and have one serious car built by next summer, and if 800hp aint enough I can always spray it. I really dont know at this point what I should do but I know I need to be patient and save my money in order to do things right. I think ill regret doing anything less than a 496, Im ready to play with the big dogs and I NEED a reliable 800+hp to do that.

I doubt your going to get even a 509 or 540 short block for $3k. I have a really nice 10:1 509 I might be looking to sell to go to a turbo set up. Forged bottom end with manley rods, Je pistons, eagle crank and a World products Merlin Block. The motor also has a set of Dart pro1 325 cnc and hand ported heads, World products intake plumbed with a new Cold fusion fogger. Comes with a custom built 870 carb. Polished sheet metal valve covers. The engine also has a brand new moroso comp eliminator oil pan on it. The engine is complete from carb to pan and was only run to break in and cut filter. I have the reciepts from the build also as well as flow numbers for the heads. $12,000
I have a 454 out of a chevy truck. It runs and even has a clean carb and everything. Nothing special but I'll sell it for $600 with a short camaro oil pan on it (it was going in a 3rd gen but never did), so you'd have some $$$ left to spend. PM me if you're interested, I'm not on the boards much.
