Hand calc... Everything had been recalibrated.
The truck was full when I picked it up, and I filled it back up on return. My hand calc showed 17.X... so I would assume the mileage calc display was rather close.

It's getting about 14 city now but I am ALWAYS sitting at a light or something. That few extra mpg's helps a lot, went from 250 miles a tank to 300 miles, if I calculate it out it's really about 340 miles. So after 24 to 24.5 gallons it's at 14mpg..
If you run at 50mph all day it would knock down 19mpg no problem, all this stop and go kills it plus I do beat on it a little bit.
These trucks a real hit or miss, driven some that get 8, driven some that get 17, driven some that get 12, they aren't consistent at all. Driving those Dodge's around that knock down 20 everywhere makes me mad though lol.

Idk, I've had both and the 6.0 is just much better. It's a lot more powerful, tows better and the transmission doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart during every shift like a 7.3 does. The 7.3 is a more reliable engine though, drive both and see which you like. I don't regret getting the 6.0 at all, had no issues in the 5 months I have had it.

Yeah I know lol, my uncles blew up with only 50k on it. The problem is the EGR cooler, a block off plate solves all of the problems. That is what causes the heads to warp/ lift. Supposedly this truck has it done along with new injectors but they seemed really shady. There is a way to tell if it has it done, I'll google it later.
On the highway it's pretty good, still not as efficient as a honda though lol. And the 7.3 is stupid slow, this truck with the tuner will get you back in the seat pretty good. I didn't tune my 7.3 because I didnt feel like the trans would hold up.
Also run a carfax on any truck you look at and it should tell you the maintenance history. If you wanna come look at it let me know, I'm in no hurry to get rid of it.

We just got a boat and I need something that gets better towing mileage. I am going to clean up and sell my lifted 01 F150 Supercrew and my 99 Z28 and use the money to buy a truck. Any interest in trading my 2 for your one?

Damn your mileage is going to be terrible after gears, should be well worth it though.. My dads lifted Titan can't tow for **** and gets 6 mpg highway with a fair sized trailer, throws a fit too so we just use my truck.
I got a weird thing for GTO's now so I'll consider a trade..
