Default 6.0l block (PICS ADDED)

I have a new 6.0l block. Part # is 2009 escalade block. It has surface rust from sitting in my garage so it needs a good cleaning and hone. It has umi solid mounts on it that can go with it or separately.

700.00 with mounts
600.00 without

Located in Pasadena

Seems high for a rusty "new" block.

I am sure the rust is in the cylinder walls. Those will be iron even if the block is aluminum.

The block is new. Never been run. It is just surface rust from sitting. Most of rubs off with wd40 and a rag

Why do you think the price is high. New blocks are over a grand now.

"Rust" if the block is new why wouldn't you just wipe it down, coat it and ask $600. You shooting yourself in the foot and everyday you let it sit with rust on it your making it worse.

When I first bought the block that's what I did and bagged it. Things happened and plans changed so it sat in storage for awhile. It's not like the thing is sitting out side and getting rained on. Are you interested in the block? If so I'll take it the machine shop and have it cleaned. Not a big deal.

Can you verify this is an 09 Escalade block? I thought they were all 6.2s in the Escalade unless it was out of a hybrid which would use the 6.0

Also I didn't see where you directly answered whether it was aluminum or iron. From your post I am leaning to aluminum. Especially if it is out of an 09 Escalade.

I would also like to know if it's aluminum or iron.

It's an iron block. I'll snap some pics of the block and serial number when I get home tonight.

It will not need a hone. I wiped a cylinder last night with some wd-40 and you can see the cross hatching perfectly
