Actually according to the KBB its about a $500-$700 difference between the two. This is going off of a 2001 Camaro Z28/SS with 31k miles in perfect condition. Total price on the SS was 11,800.

Changed the title to SS clone. Best of luck with the sale.

Advertising a non SS car as an SS is just wrong. Plain and simple. I don't think the seller was trying to rip anyone off, I just think he mis-worded his thread title.

[QUOTE=Morpheus;9407876] You're also ignorant to the fact that there are more differences in an SS and Z28 besides the hood and spoiler. Suspension and wheels are also different.

WOW! JUST WOW!lol I sure do wish this car still had factory junk suspension on it instead of these 8 way adj. and eibac springs .Sure would be worth alot more

Don't be an *** dude. I was trying to defend you by saying that you weren't trying to rip anyone off but it's clear now that you're just an idiot. If you knew anything about these cars you'd know the difference between an SS and a Z28. I don't care how nice your car is, it isn't and will never be a real SS and you should've made it more clear in the 1st place. If you think that adding a hood and spoiler makes it an SS just like a real one then you have no clue.
Get your facts about these cars straight before you start spouting bullshit and misleading people on here. Don't tell me I'm wrong either because I've been selling these cars for over 8 years and I've owned 5 of them so I'm pretty sure that I'm qualified to tell you what's right and wrong about your listing.

So what makes an SS so special? The hood and spoiler. The suspension is no better then stock, the spring rates are not even noticeable, and a good size markup for ZERO extra performance...right?
Z28 or SS Clone the car is worth every bit of what he's asking if not more for a car thats put together nicely.

Z28 or SS Clone the car is worth every bit of what he's asking if not more for a car thats put together nicely. I never said that the car wasn't worth what he was asking. The fact of the matter is that there is a difference in an SS and Z28. SS cars are numbered cars and actually had much better suspension as an option. The 1LE and Bilstein packages were great improvements over stock. It's like saying there's no difference in a WS6 and a regular Trans Am or Firehawk. That's just false.
When talking about these car from a collectibility standpoint, it's wrong to try and say that a Z28 with an SS hood and spoiler is the same as an SS. It's not true in any shape or form. Is it ok for someone to say that a 69 Yenko or COPO clone is actually the real thing? No, it's not. When I bought my SS, I got it because I wanted an actual SS, not a Z28 and not an SS clone. I wanted the WU8 option on my RPO sticker. What makes it special is that it's a premium package that was offered from the factory just like the original SS cars back in the day. I can name countless factory packages released on classic f-bodies that didn't add any performance but add substantial dollar value today.
Just because this car has the hood/spoiler and an upgraded suspension and parts that make it a better performer than a stock SS, doesn't mean that it's ok to pass it off as an SS. Just sell it as a modified Z28 with some SS appearance goodies and be done with it.
Had he not put that the car was a Z28 in his listing, it would've been fraud and that's nothing to take lightly. What if someone buys a car thinking it's an SS and later finds out that it's a clone. You think they wouldn't have a case to sue the person that sold them the car if it were advertised as a true SS? They would and would mostly win the case. We as a community of f-body enthusiasts should always strive to keep the information about these cars factual and everything that he and others have said about it being ok to call this car an SS is wrong and deceiving.

I think it's just that you're an idiot, and that you're but hurt that you paid an extra 3 grand for an appearance package. Bryan's not trying to pass off antything as being what it's not bro. He knows what he is doing, and probably built and owned more f bodies than you have rode in. It's really beside the point anyway. I'm pretty sure that whoever is going to buy this is going to buy it because of the quality and the value. NOT BECAUSE IT'S SS#1234567

I paid $11,500 for my 44k mile SS. So who's butt hurt here? I never said there wasn't value in his car either. There obviously is. You *** rockets need to stop putting words in my mouth. I don't care how many cars someone has built, if they don't realize there's a difference in a Z28 and SS and think that it's ok to say that a hood and spoiler are the only difference, then they're ******* retarted. YOUR car is an appearance package car. You can say that he knows more than me because he has built more of these cars. That's great. I ordered these cars for 3 years up unitl they stopped production. I had GM training on these cars. I've driven more of these cars than most people ever would. So don't tell me that I'm the idiot here.
I never realized that while I was out of the f-body scene, this site was overrun by idiots that don't know the difference in an SS and Z28.
