I am looking for any recommendations for a barber in the Houston/West Houston area. I am getting married Friday, and I have always wanted to have an old time shave. It seems to be a diminishing trade, but I have heard there are a couple of shops still open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a good friend that goes to one at the corner of kingsland and Mason. don't know if they do the old time shave though.

yeah Dickey's on Eldridge near West Airport. They still do the shave with the straight edge razor and an old time flat top if you prefer

There was a shop on Westheimer west of west Oaks mall (around where RSI first opened up). They are on the corner of a strip center closest to westheimer, and there's a gas station at that intersection.... don't know the cross street though.

They did the straight razor shave all the time. All old guys, arranged in order by how long they had been cutting hair... several of them over 50yrs I think one was over 70yrs.
The only "problem" I had there, was occasionally, a new guy would give me the squared off military cut on the back of my neck.
Been YEARS since I went there though.
