Default Looking for a custom center console

Hey everyone.. I live in Fort Worth and was wondering if anyone knew any good local customizers who could fabricate me a center console for my 1995 Pontiac Formula. I have my "old" console which could be used for measurements, specs, etc.. Basically all I need is the new console (even if it incorporates my current trashed out OEM center console). I would need the new console to be upholstered to match the interior of my car (dark grey or maybe dark grey with some "corvette yellow" accents").

As it stands now, my car is completely gutted at the moment. I am close to finishing up with my sound dampening material (Fatmat). My front seats, headliner and sunvisors have already been reupholstered. Anyone know a good (and fair priced) interior customizer / fabricator?

(Everyone likes pics, so, here is what my new upholstry looks like so far):

I am very interested in finding someone who can fabricate a simple / clean looking center console like these:

I've always wanted to re-upholster my T-Top roof with leather and the sun visors. I hate the fabric it came with.

I called them and was told that I needed to speak with Jeff. However, Jeff was out of the office so I think I am just going to have to drive up there and see what he has to say.

BTW, I had my upholstered pieces done at a shop off of Trail Lake, in SW Fort Worth called Teocals. Very good work. I do recommended them. (If you know spanish, that would probably help too.. hehe).

what color is your car? and what car is it? looks like u got too much yellow going on, in my opinion. Perhaps if the cloth seats were replaced with black leather in the middle?

The outside of the car is your run of the mill dark green (forest green?) color. When I get it repainted, it will still be dark green. I was at a car show 2 years ago and saw my inspiration in the color scheme. Although it was a chic's car, never-the-less, her husband "tastefully" did an outstanding job! The color scheme was very similiar to mine except in lieu of YELLOW, it was PINK. So, her interior color scheme was dark grey and pink. It looked amazing (not affraid to give props to a pink colored interior if it looks nice).

Anyway, skip ahead a few years.. Here I am, re-doing my interior from the boring tan color into a Yellow / Dark Grey theme. Since I was able to see a "final product", I have a VERY good idea of how it will look. I've already had most of my upholstry done (minus the console) and everything is basically going to be brand new when my car door opens.. Several engine parts have been powder coated, my strut tower brace, my 6 point roll bar, rims, etc..

I agree with you on the overall statement. Too much yellow would drown out the other pieces. Basically, I plan on keeping my TAN plastic OEM interior panels out of my car. I will probably go back to my local upholsterer and have a custom interior designed. I am a HUGE fan of the "minimalist" simple look, usually found with the older cars from the 1930's and 40's.

I tend to agree with the center console advise you gave. A plain dark grey leather console would look really good IMO. My car is probably going to be in the "middle ground" area.. It won't be blistering fast, but it will be 500+ HP (on the juice). Since I am a huge audiophile fan, it will also be rockin' with a custom stereo install (I used to be a custom car stereo installer). Again, it won't have (8) 15" Kicker Subs in it but I should be able to hold my own with (2) 10" subs from my Toby Ranger Bandpass box.

(more pictures of my crap, just laying around.. hehe)

These speaker pods are going to mount directly to my roll bar (BEFORE POWDER COATING)

(AFTER I HAD THEM POWDER COATED)

At the moment, my interior pretty much looks like this:

I don't have a fully updated picture, but I have been laying tons of sound dampening material down. I snapped a picture of the first section that I did:

This isn't my exact car but this is the color scheme and style. I do, however, have T-TOPS.. My car has seen better days (externally). It was severely vandalized a few years ago by some 13-16 year old kids (busted out ALL of my windows and T-TOPS, threw cinderblocks thru the windshield and damaged my hood and dash, etc.. I've been spending the last few years, buying replacement parts and quasi-restoring it. Since I am a cop, I don't make much money at all! Not to mention, I just bought a house and most of my funds go towards that.. BTW, anyone know where I can get an upper dash piece for a 1995 Formula, fairly cheap and in goooood condition? ..LOL!

Worked a little on my car tonight.. I removed the stock radio bezel. I purchased a double din bezel from Kee Audio this morning. I continued laying more of the sound dampening material down. I cut two pieces of decently thick aluminum and "deleted" my back seat area factory speaker openings. I covered the deleted opens with Fatmat. I still have several more areas that need to be "Fatmatted". My BMR aluminum radiator cover came in a few weeks ago, so I took it down to my local powder coater. I received it back and installed it. While I was in there, I went ahead and installed a brand new GM MAF sensor and a Moroso Cold Air Intake. Pretty fun evening..
