LMP - Buddies Eaton Cobra - 1.37 60' 11.0@122.95 Believe it?
Well I sure as hell do considering I was there and everything else on the slip adds up for the night. It looked absolutely incredible standing from the sidelines and I swear it looked like he shifted into 2nd before the 60'. There is loads of debate on our local forum and on the SVT forums but I just wanted to get y'alls opinions.
The whole night he was running 1.7 to 1.8 60' and 11.6 to 11.8 @ 121-123. His previous best mph was when I was there as well a couple weeks ago when he trapped 124. He was the last car to run all night and some guys from PSI went over to help him out and they tweaked a few things (tire pressure, circulating ice, discussing launch technique, etc.) for about 30 minutes and then he ran the 1.37 11.02 @ 122.95 pass.
Hes got a blue cobra with a ported Eaton, bolt-ons, springs, and did this on Nitto Radials to top it all off. He had a built rear end that actually came apart on the drive home afterwards, go figure.
Is he holding a record? Could it happen? I saw it but just want input as to what y'all think.

I think Karl managed a 13.5 if i remember right....I believe this run down to a T, his passes before were with a 1.7-1.8 60' but he was running 11.6-11.8...if you do the math, dropping that much on the 60' would equate to dropping a 8th of second of his 1/4 mile ET...I think he did it and there was no timing error like ppl are saying on the local board...

The reaction time shows that he sat at the line for a while and set up for the perfect launch, then got that perfect launch. I think more people could make that improvement if they wouldn't worry so much about the green light and would sit there until they are totally ready to run.
I think it is plausible.

I used to have one, its entirely possible. I never managed those times, the IRS was tricky to launch on, especially if you want to drive the car home as opposed to towing it home There were a few guys on svt with ported eatons/lower pulley combos, beefed up IRS, on slicks running in the high 10s..
