Exclamation Need an licensed electritian in Houston

Hey guys,

My Dad is building a swimming pool, and he wants to go ahead and wire it up this weekend. He can physically do all the work himself, he just needs a licensed electritian to go pull the permit down at the City of Houston.

No real work, and you will be paid a reasonable amount for your time. Please PM me if you or someone you know could lend a hand. Thanks a lot guys.

Let me tell you this from a Licensed electrician. You are asking a lot of a person who works hard and also depends on this license for their well being. No matter weather the electrician does the work or not he will still be responcible for the work performed. There is a lot of liability involved in what your asking for. Good luck with this. There is also a huge saftey factor involved with wiring in pool equipment and the proper GFCI protection and grounding of the pool.

X2 the Master I work under is very picky and will not risk losing his licence by doing something like this. What little bit of electrical is involved in wiring a pool why not just pay a licenced electrician to do the work?

If you want the name to the electrical company let me know. He is very reasonable on his prices... I can even refer you to a company that specialises in wiring pools.

not worth the risk of me loosing my license,
Now a days we are required to have a state license.
I have been on a job where a master electrician I was supervising for didn't pull a permit, and an inspector showed up.. wasn't a pretty picture..
Luckily I was given a warning and told to get my crew, and leave the premises.
the fines would have been outrages...

Things are a lot different now, than they where say 10-15 years ago..
hell even out in the county where rules had always been lax, they are getting tighter on the rules.
This is another reason I no longer do side work...
It's gotten to where it is to much of a hassle

And like it was said before...
Swimming pools are a wholenother animal.. there is a big risk involved there.
If it is not done right somebody could get severely hurt, or even die

Sounds like everyone is on the same page. Did it not occur to anyone to make a bid on doing the job and getting paid for it?

If you are interested in pulling the permit, doing the work, and getting paid PM me.

Duh...

Here I brought it down were you could reread what you posted.

Doesn't sound like a bid situation to me sounds like a bootlegging situation.

Go back and re-read what you posted... YOU stated that your Dad wants to do the work and he will PAY the Master Electrician a reasonable amount for his time... Just out of curiosity, what are you considering a reasonable amount? It would be above and beyond normal rates for a situation like this.

You have to remember this; even though your Dad did the work, the Electrical Company that pulled the permit is ultimately responsible. If you are swimming and get killed by electrocution the said electrical company will be investigated... Not your Dad.

Now I am saying I need an electrician to give me a price on pulling the permit, doing the job, and get paid for it.

I am not trying to put anyone in a bad situation. If you want to make some cash, and give a price for performing the work, and pulling the permit fire away. A project number is already issued for the address and ready to go.
