The new Viper not 25mpg or a V8 and ZR1maybe 25 highway? are stunning examples of OEM performance.

In the late '60s, the quickest factory musclecars were running low/mid 13s at around 100 mph. It took over 30 years to get back to those OEM numbers, in the mid-90s.

In 30 years, I'll be 66.
Still, I get what you mean.

My Viper gets 25 mpg highway with a supercharger and 760 hp. Gas bill on Power Tour was surprisingly gentle. Still has cats on it too, engine is 100% internally stock, still has factory exhaust manifolds too.

30 years X 4 cars per year (may grow to 13 per year as time goes on)

= 120 cars left to enjoy til then

So which do you like better? Your new Z06 or your Viper?

I suppose it's not fair to compare yet, since you haven't hit 500 miles yet.

Vipers and Corvettes really shouldn't be "compared". They both target a different type of driver. Both cars are so different that the driving experience is quite unique for each of them. I wouldn't say I have a favorite, I enjoy both of them for what they are.

Viper = raw, in your face, instant rockstar status on the road, a true driver's car that you have to respect. No gizmos or gadgets, no save-your-*** electronic nannies. It is a racecar that is street legal.

Vette = refined, sophisticated, modern. Full of electronic gadgets and technology, easier to drive to potential, easier to live with on a daily basis. A nearly perfect techno-rod for technology geeks who enjoy modern stuff.

I agree on this!!!!

The Escalade nav is much nicer, the hummer's nav was crap!!!!

No more centrifugal blowers for my street cars. I hate waiting on boost. The Viper w/ Paxton makes 675 rwhp but feels slow 90% of the time, unless I'm at higher rpm in 3rd-4th. I prefer the instant throttle response and huge torque curves of a screw/roots/turbo system.

Very nice. I like the comp grey wheels. I don't know if you already mentioned it or not, but do you have plans to change the wheels?
