I tend to agree, Bama only ahead because they remain undefeated. I don't see them beating Florida right now. Watching Florida the past couple of weeks, I don't see anyone beating them. Tech hasn't faced a Defense yet, not one. They won't get it with OU either. OU is 56th in scoring D and 90th in passing D. Florida D is 4th (scoring) and 17th (passing). I'd like to see Florida/Tech in NCG. For Texas... maybe we can get Boise St?

No Tech is always overrated UNTIL this year. Tech seems to have a complete team, the defense is better than most people thought, there is a bit of a running game. OU will be a great game, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the defensive stats that OU has in a game like this.

I agree. Since Mike Leach showed up tech has run that spread offense and done well with it. Trouble is, Tech had no running game or defense to speak of until this year. That has all changed which has turned them from a pretender to a contender.

I have mixed feelings about the tech game in Norman. After seeing the game last night, I am a little less confident about playing them in Norman. They are good. And like I said before, I knew OSU would choke. I have watched them play OU every year for the better part of 3 decades. They are NOT a good road team. Never have been. That close game in Austin was the FIRST time I have seen them play a good team that close on the road.

Having said all of that, if Tech beats OU I wish them the best and will be rooting for them all the way. I just hope some of their fans act like they have been there before and don't blow their wad.

The human polls are VERY close. Only a few points seperate Tech from Bama.

Was a GREAT game by TTU. The defense played huge and held themselves together and showed they can be a huge force in the game. Whitlock is just a beast on the inside of the line. The offense did its thing and Im not really surprised.

All I can hope for as a TTU fan is that OSU beats OU and then the game at OU wont matter as TTU would have the Big XII Champ game locked in and will for sure beat a north division team. (edit: Im saying that if TTU loses at OU and OU loses @ OSU then TTU will win against tiebreakers against UT correct?)

Its gonna be an interesting week next week!! Go OSU!!!!

If OU beats Tech that will most likely leave them out due to losing late in the season. I would think that because Texas' win over OU that the BCS voters would give the Horns the nod here. This is very intriguiging!
Ou will "win" a threeway tie.

UT us up ~.03 in the BCS rankings and up ~.10 in the computer rankings.

OSU and Tech wins will obliterate that computer lead and unless the human polls want to put OU 2-3 spots lower than Texas, OU will be ranked higher. What makers you think the human pollsters will drop OU in the polls after huge wins? They are already not giving Texas any special credit for te head to head win...why would they after the win is 7 weeks old in their memory?

So by that logic, TTU should be ranked above UT still, even if they lose in Norman?

I mean, I just don't see how you can put them ahead of Tech in the BCS rankings when Tech beat them when they played each other.......right?

Home field advantage, night game, miracle play, 4th game in a string of ridiculous ones

some people are more objective than Sooner fans

1. Human pollsters and computers aren;t gving UT any extra credit for the tough loss. SHould they? Prehaps.

2. Everyone in the Big12 South has to play a murderous schedule.

Yes, because saying OU has "zero shot" at the Big12 CG is a pillar of objectivity.

Ignore the tie in the human polls, ignore the obvious upcoming change in the coputer rankings between OU/UT. ignore the trend of teams jumping 2-4 slots upon winning against #1 team, ignore anything you like, after all, that's all part of objectivity, right? Ignoring anything that lends evidence to something you are arguing against?

So you are objective but cant get over the fact that TTU outplayed UT?? How long did TTU lead? What was the stats? Just because the score was close doesnt mean the game wasnt. ANYONE who watched the game saw TTU outplay UT. Besides it happened TWO weeks ago now so get over it. A loss is a loss is a loss. Cant change what happened.

Im sorry but it TTU loses at OU how can you not do what they did to TX and only drop 2-3 spots in the polls?? OU is ranked HIGHER then TTU when they played UT so they should drop as far right?? So would TTU be higher then UT just because they beat UT??

Remember that TTU is on their own strech of stupid crazy games. #23, #1, #8 and then a #5 so saying that UT didnt drop far because of a stretch of hard games but then say that TTU should drop out of the top 10 if they loose to OU is stupid.

Hell TTU is .01 points behind Alabama in the new BCS rankings. A couple more people voting for TTU to be in 1st would be all it would take to move them up to 1st in the BCS. With the way Alabama is played they could EASILY drop with this weeks game even though TTU has the weekend off.

What's ******* nuts is that between UT, OU, OSU and Tech that one of these teams will finish FOURTH, freaking FOURTH in the South. There isn't a whole conference that is better than the Big 12 South, including the entire SEC, lol. You know, we can argue all we want, but none of us has any say-so on how this will all end up. Everyone is obviously biased towards their team. At this point there are so many variables involved that maybe it's time to just step back and drink beer and let the chips fall where they may. After this weekend I need several beers, lol. The one thing that is obvious is that Tech is solidly in the driver's seat.

Who needs a playoff? It feels like we are in one right now in the big 12 South.

The same cannot be said about OU when we beat them. They showed up and gave us all they had. We didn't give up, were able to stay in the game, and came away with the win, at a neutral field nonetheless.

So, all this crap about OU jumping UT when, ......yes WHEN, they beat Tech, is just that, crap.

I'm with mmiller though, lets just sit back, have some beers and let the chips fall where they may.

What a treat. Another 'objective' UT fan analysis.

I am a much better person for having read that post.
