Hopefully one of you guys can help me out with this question or point me in the right direction. I am in Iraq right now and I'm trying to figure out if my wife is able to purchase a rifle for me using my Power of Attonery so that it is registerd to me or is changing that something simple if I just have her buy it?

the dems now have control of the exec. branch and BOTH sides of the legislative branch.

the last time we saw this was at the beginning of Clinton's first term, and in that brief time, we saw the passing of the Brady Act and the Assault Weapons Ban.

need i say more?

Oh yeah god forbid you have to perform a background check for your personal firearm. Even so that law is expired, try again. The AWB, was to slow the progression of rising gang violence. I am not a democrat nor republican so that is not where I am coming from on this. But sometimes I wish people would just chill out. When is it exactly that you use your AR-15? My buddies each have AR's and AK's but never use them except at a range or in the deep woods shooting at trees. If they were taking AW's from the military or police officers I would be offended. Even if they were to get another ban through, thats what Sunset provisions are for. But as I said earlier I doubt it will go through, this country has better things to worry about.

Again, are you that naive? It's been passed before and it will be passed again. The big O hates guns and his record shows that. I also see a lot of other gun bans being passed during his term. Gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

remember, the AWB was about certain features, not the mechanics of the guns themselves. you could buy an AR-15 or an AK-47 type rifle as long as it didnt have a flash hider, collapsible/folding stock, bayonet lug, or post ban hi-cap mags.

Having an assault rifle is about freedom, if they wanna take effective weapons away from me then theres only one reason; so they can begin oppressing us!!! Those ************* wont get away with this, every American citizen has the right to bear arms and God help them if they come knocking on my door to take that right. Lucky for me though I have lots of assault rifles and machine guns, saws, 240gs, m203s, etc..

Thats why I opted for a FAL variant. .308 cal is more "usable" IMO.
