I'll have to throw one out for Xtreme Horsepower in N. Richland Hills. I think they do good work as well.

I've had both Wayne Calvert in Denton and Mike Smith in Ft. Worth do machine work for me, I would recommend either one of them.

I have to agree with capn smokey

Xtreme- The owner of extreme is very rude. He seems like a know it all, and talks out his ***.
He told me to break in a cam in an SBC, to run the motor for "No more than 30 seconds" turn the motor off, and let it sit over night. He said to do this 2 days in row, or the cam would go flat.
That is the dumbest thing i have ever heard about cams.

Me, along with turbo'd stang reccommend ray-mac. Chris is the man when it comes to porting heads, and the owner of ray-mac is very cool, and will always take the time to answer any questions you have.

Raymac all the way.

Yelvie is still around? He did the heads in my LS1 street car years ago when he worked at Hans Feustel. Nice guy ...

I've started using Calvert on all our engine builds for customer cars. Decent pricing, quick turn-around and the work is done as promised. he also stands behind his work. He's been in business for 50 years and in the same location. If his work was junk, he'd been gone a long time ago.

Some one else is Steve at Automotive Machine close to down town Ft. Worth. Lately, they've been doing a lot of CNC jugs for a local chopper fab shop.

You must have misunderstood the advice that I gave you to break in a flat tappet cam. I hate that you thought that I was rude. I certainly don't know it all. No one does, but I have seen many cams fail due to improper break in and only offered the advise to help you.

I said 30 minutes not 30 seconds. I did suggest that you should let the engine cool down 3- 4 hours or overnight and then repeat the process. You should read http://www.compcams.com/Base/pdf/Fla...chBulletin.pdf

It will give you some advice that you might believe in.

Good luck

^Hate to say it Orvil but you have changed ALOT, I used to tell everyone to come see you but not anymore. Get back to the way you were before, alot of people are noticing whats happening. It may not be clear to you but to everyone around you it is, not trying to start **** but just think about your business practices a lil bit.
