texas is #2 in BCS
UT ran into an incredibly motivated, hungry TTU. At home. In the biggest game in their school's history. Had Tech been able to maintain that level of intensity for three straight games (UT, OSU, OU), I would have no problem with them being the conference champ and representing the Big 12 in the NC game. But, as I suspected, it didn't happen.
By the same token, if the OU team that showed up Saturday night against Tech played UT, it likely would have been either closer or a win for OU. Their defensive front four was DOMINATING all night. Graham Harrell looked completely lost and flustered. That was an impressive beatdown.
The argument for OU is this: who is playing the best football right now? Is it Texas, who lost on the road in an incredibly hostile environment on a (more or less) last second play? Or is it OU, who just exposed Tech as a fraud who was able to outwill and outplay Texas?
If by some fluke Baylor beats Tech, UT goes to the Big12 title game. That's about as likely as Jennifer Aniston knocking on my front door and asking if she can have a threesome with my wife and I.
Hang on. I need a moment to digest that thought.
OK.
So, Tech beats Baylor. UT beats A&M. OU wins in any sort of convincing fashion: OU jumps UT and goes to the Big12 title game, then goes on to the NC game. UT gets the at-large bid. Tech is on the outside looking in.
Tech beats Baylor and OU loses. UT beats A&M. OU drops out of the NC mix, Tech goes to the Big12 title game, wins, but UT goes to the NC game. OU is on the outside looking in.
Tech beats Baylor. UT beats A&M. OU barely beats OSU. MAYBE UT stays ahead of OU, and while Tech goes to the Big12 game, UT gets the NC game. OU on the outside looking on.
Tech beats Baylor. UT loses to A&M. OU...doesn't matter. I'll be too pissed at the Longhorns if they lose to A&M this year.

Can you say, "clusterf*ck"?

gotta love a horn fan who can see both sides
As far as Jennifer Aniston goes, I would have no problem settling for just one-on-one with Ms Aniston and send the Mrs shopping.

alright, seriously now...
Told the wife she could video tape if Charleze Theron showed up...

your better off just doing the top 25 friggin teams regardless of division or schedule and just have a playoff.

As for Texas and A&M we are going to get killed. The only experience on the team is the defensive secondary and a sub par Mike Goodson. Most of the Linebackers and defensive line are all underclassman and are terrible. With Joe kines we might get the wrecking crew in a 2-3 years but I'm definately not certain. He did some wonders at Florida St. Texas is going to kill us with short passes. The past 2 years against Texas have been good b/c the defensive front and linebackers stepped it up, which won't happen this year. We just don't have the size and speed, especially with Jordan Shipley. We'll see if Jerod is as mobile as they say he is.
As for OSU and OU it should be a good game. Much better than Tech. no idea what happened there.
I also think Bama will beat Florida. If it was the middle of the season maybe, but this is for the SEC champ. Still think it's funny how Florida is still up front in the SEC, they lost to an unranked team, that should automatically take you out of contention for the BCS.
Same situation where USC is ranked high when they lost to Oregon State, who will win the pack 10. So USC is ahead of Utah whom is undefeated and beat Oregon State. Just don't get how they set this up.
Anyways, good luck on Thurs. I'll be wearing my aggie gear wating to get our asses kicked.
BTW, the school makes a crap load off bowl games also.
