New 2008 C6 Owner Here
First thing, I've been reading and reviewing this site for a couple of years now. Its enjoyable and educational, I've used many of the sponsors and followed the advise of some of the patiots.
I have been the lucky owner of a 2000 SS, that I purchased new and have enjoy from day one. It's a bolt-on LS1 with 98.000 miles, one of the best cars I've ever owned.
Saturday I purchased a 2008 C6 3LT, its used with 10,000 miles but just like new. I'm crazy about this car, I don't know why I waited so long to make the purchase.
I'll try to post some pic's, never have before but I'll figure that out, any how I hope to hear from more of you soon and yes I'll be boring ya'll with all the Newby question soon. It's my first Vette so forgiven my lack of knowledge, but I'm a first learner.

No, the paddles actually shift the gears, the console shifter only has two forward positions "Drive and Sport". When in Drive the trans. acts like any auto, When in the Sport mood you shift the gears as you like.
Well, that's to best of my knowledge after only 500 miles.

I work at Vandergriff Chevrolet in the quick service department and we have to check in all the new cars...and paddle shifters are freakin awesome...its jus like a manual with no clutch pretty much...they are even six speed transmissions nice Vette by the way

I've never had the chance to try it but I'm curious how quickly shifts are executed once you flap the flapper.
I drove a manu-matic Bimmer 3 Series and the shifts were so slow it was kind of pointless. "vroooOOOOOM (flap)..... (shift) vroooooOOOOOOM (flap)....."

Thanks for all the positive responds, I'm looking for feed back on the paint. The old SS is black as well and lets just say I never put out the time to care for the paint like I should have. Is there any products or little tricks to perserve the finish. Oh it has a clear bra and has been treated with some product called "Resist-All", anyone heard of this?
Also how are you guys with NAV systems hooking up your Ipods, Lets say what is the best way? I have the FM transmitter, not that good in city locations.
Not planning to over Mod this one but what would be a good starting point. Induction/Air cleaner or maybe a little computer tuning. Give me an idea what to start with first?

OK, I guess the FM transmitter is the best route for the ipod's with Nav systems, I'll explore that more later. I don't have the original window sticker at this time but I marked up a option list I found on-line. Its a pretty good list of options on the car.
