LS6 stage 3 w/ opened up runners. From what I have seen the best of the best can make them heads flow more than you need to go that fast and not worth the weight. Call the guys at RPM in Lewisville.... they know how to get the car to run the 5.4-5.5 number for that class. On a dry kit too. Zex plate is good btw.
TFS also has the "as cast" heads. They seem to flow near their more expesive CNC heads, but at a more reasonable price. The downfall and reason I didn't go with them is the need for aftermarket rockers.
If the choice is ported stockers plus a 100 shot or just the TFS. That is a toss up. Ya, it'll make more power with the ported heads and 100 shot... until the bottle runs out.
The cars making over 500 hp on LS6 heads have bigger cams compared to cars making that amount with a smaller cam and the better heads. It all boils down to what you want out of it.
There is a couple of threads that lists different 408's, their cam and heads and power made. Some even list their ET. You may find them helpful in your descision.

Haven't got to drive the car since then though.
BTW, I would ditch the Zex plate and get a Speedtech plate.

Don't the truck heads have larger runners?
The money difference is about $600 between stage3 and tfs.. is not a cost issue its more weight over hp.. I will not be cheap on my build just careful on the choice.. i dont want to pay $2500 for heads and have the added weight eat up my hp gain!

I know what you are saying... you are right. I was just thinking that the advantage of the TFS heads is a larger runner..... other than that the weight doesnt make up the difference. I would do your heads... what size runner are they btw? Your car has a proven combo... and I know what size cam Erik is suggesting....
Is Thurman (iirc) going Solid Roller? HKE cam's are typically 248/256 or 244/248 on the hydrolic motors.
