You are also Correct I agree! The leadership should have mandated retooling a long time ago; One problem . 1) The contract they negotiated with the UAW also spells out how fast they can change and who can do what? That is the lack of being able negotiate and live with a little pain a long time ago. I do not care if they are building hybreds; hydrogen; or nuclear cars. As long as they have the UAW contract as is, they cannot be profitable and cannot make cars at a competitive price with equal quality to the Imports built here in the US.
Until they get their fixed costs down they will be back at the "Bailout Trough " to ask for more of our Tax Dollars to build our cars.
