Default Pulling motor out, need advice.

Ill be pulling the motor out of my 00 camaro tomorrow to paint the engine bay. Currently the trans is out cause im changing the clutch out. I have the book on the ls1 and ls6 motors which gives a little info on removing the motor. However is there anything i need to keep an eye out for while doing this. id appreciate it.

thanks
jay

i would drop it from the bottom. that way you can get a lil more involved with all the small details before you shoot fresh paint.

Uhh, it's much easier to drop it from the bottom especially if you have access to a lift.

Everything can stay if you're dropping it from the bottom.

Dont even need to take the heads off to pull from top. With a lift or the means to take it from the bottom it would definitely be easier. I've pulled it twice from the top however with no issues, just take manifold off.

You can drop it with the power steering attached but need to remove the pump to take motor off K-member or you'll have to disconnect the lines. Pulling the pump can be a pain...Just takes some time.

Don't forget to pull the cam sensor connection from the back of the intake before removal.
