Huskies are escape artists, no doubt. It took me six months to get my backyard "Husky proof!" Every Husky owner says the same two things: they can escape from anything and that the run till they drop. Mine arent physo at all though, they are quite friendly.

Did you find them yet? I live off of S. Hulen around Risinger Rd. I've got (2) German Sheps and they really seem to like Huskies to socialize with.. I know several Fort Worth Animal Control Officers. Try calling down there, to the Animal Control Office.. Ask for Animal Control Officer M. Chris Berry and tell her that Officer Martinez from South Patrol referred you. She is really good at her job and has a huge amount of information on tap, at her disposal (lost and found dogs, dog sightings, dogs currently in the Animal Control Center, people who have found dogs and are looking for their owners, etc). Best of luck in search.

Sorry, nevermind. I called the number and someone had already claimed them. I'll keep looking.

I got my dogs back this past weekend...and they were found only 4 miles away or so!! I lady walked up to my door while my fiance was home and said she had our dogs, said she has had them for 2 weeks. Somehow their collars managed to come off, not sure how that would happen. She said a friend of hers saw 1 of my flyers and gave it to her. We gave her a couple hundred dollars for returning them...thats the least I could do for her. It has taken a couple of days to get the damn skunk smell out of them, they smelt horrible.

Thanks to anyone who was lookin out for me.

Man that is great to hear. I have a Sibe 1.5 yr old. When did your dogs settle down and stop being so damn energetic? I walk her daily, but Ive yet to bring her back tired. Tried roller blades and a pull harness, but she likes to randomly stop and smell poop/****/whatever. How do you keep her entertained whilst away at work?

Time to invest in an invisible fence.

Good to hear you got your pups back.

Fasttimes- That's great to hear! My dog managed to shed his collar and body harness. I was soooo excited to get my husky back. For about 2 weeks straight, he wouldn't let me out of his sight, not even to go to the bathroom!

BigZee- My husky is almost 6 years old and he hasn't lost any energy. He loves to RUN...a lot. I've taken my dog on 4-5 mile runs and it doesn't seem to effect him. It definitely helps to have another dog in the yard to keep them entertained. Huskies are pack dogs. Your backyard should definitely be husky-proof. I've seen my dog chew through a wooden fence to get to the other side. I've seen him squeeze through holes that I thought would be impossible for him to get through. I have an electric fence that runs around the yard about 5-6 inches from the ground that helps keep him from digging out.

BigZee - Agree with Brian@TSP, mine are 4+ yrs old and have yet to calm down. Every time I come home, they act as if I havent seen them in days. They can run forever; they got out on me another time when I accidentally didnt shut the gate right, and they litterally ran down the streets till their paws turned bloody! I could not catch them by foot, I had to follow them in the truck, and as soon as the couldnt run anymore, they came right to me and jumped in the truck.

It took me about 6-8 months to get my backyard "Husky proof." I had to dig the fence perimeter, staple chicken wire to the bottom of the fence, and cover it all back up; not to mention having to replant all the damn grass. They eventually stopped digging at the fence after they kept hitting the chicken wire. I still dont know how they got out this time, but Im thinking someone opened up my gate.
