We did our garage floor with the Sherman Williams epoxy. Many transmission changes and such gets a little slippery with the tranny fluid but wipes up easy. Spilled everything under the sun on it and the only thing I found to take it up was a cutting torch and hot slags of metal... of course it took the concrete with it.

Also to anyone doing a coating on a concrete floor... spend the little bit of extra money and use muratic acid on the floor. Pour some down brush it around and hose it off... EVEN ON BRAND NEW CONCRETE. it helps it stick and helps keep it from pulling up

On the plus side, that floor saw oil, blood (mine...stupid shock install), trans fluid, coolant, brake fluid, differential fluid, Coke, beer, cat pee, and all sorts of other fluids, and nothing left a stain. Everything was one wipe with a damp paper towel or Clorox Wipe away from being clean.
for the U-coat-it kit, the chips are just for looks. if you want non-skid surface, they give you a can of aluminum oxide filings. you can see the raises 'bumps' in the spider picture. it makes it non-skid, but it will really shred up your mop when you try to clean it.

as far as cleaning goes... you gotta make sure you mop up stuff right away. i have a stain on mine from anti-freeze that was trapped under a rhino ramp for like a few weeks while i was working on my 3rd gen.

also, while the floor is pretty much chemical proof, its not scratch proof. sliding metal stuff on the floor (like jacks) WILL scratch it... so you gotta pick up your jack to move it if you care about that.

I looked at doing those because they are not glued down and you can take them with you but did not like the edges thats why I went with the VCT (cleaner lines), how do they hold up?

so far so good...I've only had them down about two months now so we shall see. This was an easy alternative to paint and required no prep work so that was nice

if you get them in-store at Lowes they are only $6.50 vs $10 online. Each square is 20" by 20"

i did the $100 epoxy floor kit from home depot for my 2 car garage. There was a kit that had for 2.5 and used it all up. Works great and its been a few months now since i did it. I made a thread about it somewhere here or on LS2.
I later found the same kit at walmart for half the price

I was at Home Depot today looking at flooring for the garage and saw this product called "Allure". Anyone every try that? Looks like its more than some of the paint products and less than some of the tile products. Easy to install with no floor prep. I detailed a car the other day that had the snap tiles on the floor. It looked okay, just kinda strange to walk on. Funny he had a Porsche Carrera GT and a GT3rs parked on it.

Quick Reply: anyone coat there shop/garage floor? i need suggestions!
