Neil, what product did he use? I can do it myself also, the surface is brand new and has no stains yet. Prep would be minimal.

Black well that is different. Wouldn't look bad though. 4K well I guess I would buy a lift also. My last house had a 3.5 wide 2 deep it was a nice size with another 900 sq ft above for storage sure miss that garage. But the new one allows me a lift etc... You will have to light the hell out of it to keep it bright in there with the black floors GL with finding it Tony. Also search Jotun products and see what you find. They have a location on 225.

That was me, I just finished it up not long ago. I used Wolverine Coatings epoxy, it's industrial grade and really good quality stuff. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it's really thick (20 mils thick when all said and done). I'll try to get some pictures up soon, but pics really don't do justice. If you want to stop by one day and see it, you're welcome to.

If you go on the garagejournal board, there are a whole bunch of people that put down this stuff. AlphaGarage on there is the distributor for it.

P.S. I just checked, they have black as a color.

The walls look much darker in the pictures than they are in real life...it was taken with a camera phone with only one light on and no flash lol.

The color actually is close to the color of the viper and i am installing a few rows of lights on the ceiling to make it a no issue

I figured this much as I couldn't imagine anyone being into motorsports of any kind not having good lighting to see/clean etc... on their vehicles. I am sure if looks good. I just do a lot of work on my cars and so I end up with white on the walls to reflect the light better not that I couldn't think of a better color for sure.

Jeff, my house garage will be my display case. I'm building a 40x60 shop out back to do the real work. The garage does have four large shop lights in it though, plenty of light to see.

I ordered 2 kits of black (with gray and white flakes) from this place, several guys have used it with excellent results on the Viper site:

www.epoxy-coat.com

Came out to $600 for two kits, enough to cover 1000 sq-ft. My garage is brand new, no stains yet, so prep will be minimal.

Ok, Brett came out last week, Thursday, and had the garage finished Sunday morning. Really great guy, can't say enough about him.

Day 1, applying the initial coat, a sealer:

Dat 2, applying the first coat of epoxy and then laying down the flakes, full broadcast:

Days 3 and 4, applying the final 2 coats of the epoxy:

It looks much better in person, obviously. I didn't think the cost was out of line in the least and would gladly do it again.

Looks REAL good! Yeah it just doesn't seem to come out the same when I do it myself LOL! And I like Brett he is down to earth and funny as hell! Don't know how much time you got to hang out with him as he is always a busy man etc... But he cracks me up when we get to talking. Looks great glad you were happy!

The cabinets were donated by a friend and it was just a matter of getting them painted and situated where I wanted them. Unfortunately the top cabinets were a different width and there was no feasible way of making them look symetrical, not that I'm complaining.

4-layer epoxy. Actual thickness I couldn't tell you.

Nice storage space but you could have mounted the cabinet on the left in the corner at the same spacing as the lower cabinet and a 1/4" panel for the front to cover the gap to the wall. No biggie though, I probably would have just done it like you as well.
