if u can use a 1/2 ratchet with a cheater pipe on it...a breaker bar has a smaller torque rating than a ratchet...meaning its gonna break before the ratchet does.

I just tried it again, tried both a ratchet and a breaker bar, BROKE THEM BOTH! I'd love to try an impact but I don't have air tools. I'm about to throw this bitch back together and sell it.

I'm in pearland, near houston. I need one of those trucks that goes out and fixes big rig flats to come by and hit this bolt and probably rip my motor out of the mounts...lol

Did you try heating and smacking it? If you don't do SOMETHING to loosen the threads, you'll keep breaking bars and ratchets. You can take a ratchet after the smoke-n-smack, and hit tie handle with a hammer but watch your fingers. It needs a quick snap of torque to bust it loose. Gradual torque from pressing, sitting, standing on a bar will do a little bit to help, but not much. Wish I was around that area, I'd come get the thing out for you for a cold beer and you could keep the 50 bucks, lol. Good luck to you.

Edit: Possible it got cross threaded? If so, you might think about leaving it for someone else to deal with, lol.

Piktars? All is not lost. Just find a bottoming tap with the same thread size and pitch as the bolt and clean the threads out. Glad to hear you got it.

It was a small piece, maybe 1/4 long, very thin. I just threaded a stock bolt I have laying around and it threaded all the way no problem. So the best thing to do is tap it?

GOOD GOD...we actually broke one using the bolt to pull the crank pulley on...

the ratchet will break, just wanted you to know that it'll take longer than the breaker bar

Nah, if a stock bolt threads in with no catches, I wouldn't worry about it.
