Default Totalled car....

Some dumb *** pulled out infront of me like a little more than a month ago. Well, the car was totalled out. It was a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro with 117K on the clock. It was a Z28, A4, with the SS hood and spoiler. Well, the old motor went bad so I replaced it with a built/forged 347 which had a ls6 intake manifold, P&P TB, MS3 cam, Kooks headers, full exhaust. Technically the motor had only @ 4K on it as well as the full exhaust. Now the op insurance company wants to give me like $7500 if they keep the car, $5500 if i keep the car. What should i do?!?

It will be easier and cost less to swap than fix.

how fast were you going when the car pulled out infront of you? if you were going less than 40 i would say keep the car and buy a new radiator support and everything should cost less.

another option would be to call and tell insurance you need to think about it for a week, and have the car towed to your house where you can put a stock motor, or your old blown one back in and then have insurance take it off your hands

Do you have any reciepts? If so, show those and see what they do. I doubt you will get it back dollar for dollar, but you should get something.

Buy it back. You can make more than $2k just on the part out if you decide not to keep the drivetrain.

put the old motor back in it, sell it to them, and buy a roller for your 347..

i would buy a roller and swap all your stuff over. part out the interior and body parts. Youll spend a fortune trying to fix a wrecked car.

good advice but if he swapped motors and is considering fixing it back up, i think he loves it too much to ever sell.
