Would YOU Pull over.....

Moats didn't report it, the Plano officer told his supervisor what the Dallas officer did, because he says he didn't feel comfortable with the way it was handled. So they didn't know he was an NFL player until later. And as far as just walking into the hospital, that cop probably woulda either tazed him or tackled and arrested him.

I've been in that position sorta. I was hauling *** to the hospital with my dad and had a cop following me the whole way and I didn't stop, flew into the ER entrance and got out of my car and the cop just said good luck to me.
#25
wow, thats a good story, dont hear that to much!
#27
Yeah that cop was stupid. If I heard my mother is dying and I was a cop I would have went into the hospital with him to see if he is telling the truth. But the cop just **** himself trying to preach to a upset guy with a family member on their death bad. Bad call on the cop, I guess i will wait to hear about the law suite from the cop on some bullshit.

watching that video got me fightin mad, sad story and i hope that cop gets fired and can never be a cop anywhere else. thats was just wrong in all kinds of ways. i dont understand how some cops have no feelings for other in situations like that, its like all the care about is how that can screw someone over and how many tickets they can write. i would have told the cop im not running im going inside to spend my last moments with a love one and i will be more than happy to pay the price of running the red light we will deal with it when im done and just walked in

Ya, with out a doubt. If someone close to me was going to die with in minutes. I can guarantee I'd not worry about the consquences of what happened afterwards. Id get out my car and start yelling "Im going inside "XXXX" is about to die" and haul my *** inside. Maybe he wouldnt "let me walk in", but from the video, I think the NFL player easily could have made it inside.

i know quite a few cops. And most of the ones that have 10 plus years of experience have encountered an emergency like this. They usually will lead the way, but if the person is too imotional and not stable the officer cannot let the person keep on driving. They are likely to create another tragity. (Not the case with this guy though) Dont dog on all cops just because of one bad seed. That is very ignorant.
And I live in Katy drive around open exhaust all the time. I never get fucked with. Maybe its the way you drive that gains attention. Just a note... cops talk to each other. If you are rude to one of them... They will all be looking for you. Try being respectful. Not saying that is your problem, but maybe thats why you have such bad experiences...

if i was the cop, i would have either let him go after telling his story IN the hospital parking lot, or if i really wasnt believing him, just follow him into the lobby to confirm the story with the nurse before letting him go.

I'd have escorted him up to the room to make sure he wasn't lying. If he was being honest, I'd probably have left them to tend to family matters. If he was lying..he'd be going to jail.

Yeah, i watched that too.. That's a damn shame. I concurr with alot of you guy's.. I would have made a bLine for the ER to be with my mother..
I will say this... It ain't over i'll bet.. DPD will be in a civil suit once the mother in law is in the ground.. my.02.
If i were the Police Officer, i too would have followed the guy and his family to the room, and figured it out from there..

Yea I believe the officer drew his weapon when the guy and his family or something jumped out of the car. I'd have done the same thing if I was trying to stop a vehicle and then they get all froggy and start getting out of the car.

Both sides didnt act correctly, but I have to say after the cop heard his mother in law was dying he should have stopped trying to issue the damn ticket and acting like a **** "I can ruin your night, I can screw you over" should not be things he said. His night isn't great already jackass someone he loves is dying. Not to mention he had to sign a release for the recessitation
