iron block wont fit why not? had a 5.3 bored to a ls1 put everything together tried to drop it in and motor mounts wont line up is there something different about a 5.3 then a 5.7 or an i just stupid cause i have put alot of motors in this car and never had this problem are you suppose to use 5.3 motor mounts or are ls1 and 5.3 the same someone help and has anyone ever done this?

The blocks are not 100 percent the same. But with a few mods it will bolt in, you need to drill and tap a hole for the alternator bracket, with a new bit and tap it is a pretty easy job. If you are using A/C there are only three of the four bolt holes to attach the compressor bracket, but three bolts looked good enough for me. Use the f body accessories and motor mounts and it will go right in. I put a 5.3l in my 98z28 last weekend. Also, be sure you are using the f-body oil pan and pick up tube, the truck pan will hit the k member.

whatever car truck that it's going in. . . use those orginal motor mounts. -meaning if it's going in a fbody, use those.
