Default Trailer Inspection

Has anyone heard about trailer inspections? I just heard about this yesterday. What all is required to pass? Do all trailers have to be inspected or is there a weight limit or something. I have way to many boat trailers. Its gonna get expensive.

Never heard about it here as we have 2 car trailers and only have to worry about license registration every year. Is this new?

If I recall correctly from when I bought my trailer it is only if it is a 10,000 lb or greater trailer. Mine has 2 5,200lb axles so it can technically carry 10,400 lbs. It is titled as 9,999 lbs to avoid this. I am sure the DMV can verify. I simply get the new registration for it each year.

It is by weight, but I don't know what the bracket is.
