Default My amp started sparking... any ideas?

I was driving earlier, and after about 5 minutes, I heard the rear speakers "crackling", looked back and saw sparks coming from my amp. I pulled over immediately and unhooked the amp. Any ideas of why this happened? Fair to say the amp is toast?

Both of them could be right. Only way to know if your amp is toast is the hook it back up. Check your fuses on the amp and under the hood. What kind of amp was it? What were you pushing?

I didnt have much time to look at other wires... But the ground wire was fine, and the wires going to the speaker were fine as well.

Are you using spade connectors or just wedging the wires under the screw and tightning them down? LOL If doing it w/o spades, probably had a few threads (thats all it takes) to ground it out.

So, if not using spades, would recommend them.
