Red River Raceway/Thunder Road Raceway Opening The old Red River Raceway has been sold and is having it's opening day on June 6th with a Test n Tune day. The new name is Thunder Road Raceway, gates will open at 5 pm and run til midnight, $10 to get in, $10 for a tech card. The plan after saturday's opening is to run TnT on friday nites, saturday will be Index, bracket, import or outlaw racing and sunday will be motorcycle racing with cars by invite only.

The track is in Gilliam, Louisiana about 20 miles north of Shreveport just off of highway 71 or about 20 miles south of Texarkana. Alot of racers from northeast Texas came to Red River Raceway and I was just letting them know the track is open again, but called Thunder Road Raceway.

50 miles south of Texarkana. First night was a nightmare. Waited in line for hours for one pass. Lights broke. They had to resort to arm drop street style racing with no times whatsoever. Have to stand in line to buy tickets to stand in line and buy food and drinks. Also won't let you run n/t. I hope hey get things worked out. I won't go back until they do.

I have always liked the Gilliam track, but opening night was my worst experience ever. I hope it gets better as time goes on, and the new crew gets adjusted.
