Window tint and no front plate are easy excuses for any officer to pull you over for.....mainly to check and see if they may get lucky and catch you drunk or with drugs.

 

I got pulled over twice for my window tint when I had my SS...never got a ticket though.

I got a few tickets for no front license plate as well....waste of paper cause each time mine were dismissed

 

i got pulled over for tint, they told me the limit was 25%, the tester read 24% so they let me go

 

Ok so i had a similar question..i went down to a local tint place and asked what was legal, told him that i heard 20 was good...he said no...lol...he busts out with a calculator and tells me, from the factory the window has a 7% rating so u subrtract 7 from 35 (the film) and u get 28%....so if u put 20% thinking its legal u arent taking into account the stock 7%...dont know if its true or not but thats what i was told...I used to run 2 layers of tint and got pulled over alot thats why i had to ask.

 

I have been ticketed twice this year for my windows on my CC Duramax. I would rather have the privacy of 2% tint and pay the tickets.

 

I've heard you can't get on bases with illegal tint either.....

 

Sounds like a bunch of cryin' over nothing. Who gives a **** if he pulled you over? You didn't get a ticket did you? Move on.

 

HAHA That's good stuff. I have 5 all the way round too, and have for years.

 

20% will pass a state inspection but u can get ticketed for anything under 25%

I think the point of the post was that people were going over the speed limit past the officer and another car had expired tags or something, but he got pulled over for tint.

Maybe I read it wrong, whatever.

We should give the officer a gold star for making sure someones window tint was legal. **** those other people breaking the law.

 

I got a ticket the same day I baught my car it had 5% on it and when I asked the officer what was the correct % I could have he said it was 20% but when I went to court I asked the judge and he told me it was 35% so I was confused but I followed what the juged said and put 35% which sucks because my girl friend is alergic to the sun an burns real quick and that 5% helped her a lot now it hurts her.

 

Maybe in plano. Not here in H town. 35% is legal.

The DPS loves to pull these cars over and do illegal searches. They were really messing with me hard for a while. I have dark tint and I just roll my windows down all the way and take out the keys. They didn't like that and it became a routine thing to get pulled over and searched. To prevent this I put a rattlesnake in a box in the hatch area. The next time that I got pulled over a trooper asked me if he could search my car. I told him no. He did it anyway and lucky for him he was pretty quick to close the lid. The DPS does not mess with me anymore.
