4l60e rebuild/repairs
4l60e rebuild/repairs My 4l60e started throwing a code a couple weeks ago (P1870). I don't notice anything wrong with it while driving, but I don't want it to fail. My z28 has 110k on it and it prolly needs to be rebuilt anyways.
I took it to eagle transmission, and they wanted me to leave it with them and he wanted to rebuild it with all stock parts. running between $850-$1100. I figure if I am going to be dropping a grand on a rebuild, I might as well get it upgraded.
What is a reasonable price for a rebuild these days? and are there any reputable shops in north Dallas that are trustworthy and stands behind work?(decently close to McKinney) I have heard of a few in ft. worth, but that's about 1+ from me.
I would also be open to buying a stage 2 4l60e if anyone has one to get rid of.

Call Trent at "" in Duncanville, TX. He bullet-proofed my 4L60E and I drag race it 2 times a week (over 400 passes) and have tried to break it but can't! Well worth the drive and money (average priced) but he stays busy since he's so good at what he does. Tell him Michelle referred you: . He does not require any money up front.

I had my 4l60e rebuilt by the most experienced tranny guy at Van Chevy about a year ago. It's starting to act weird on me now and it was rebuilt to stock. I suggest either, beefing it up or buying a "bullet proof" one. I figure if a tranny goes out once, a stock rebuilt isn't gonna last as long the second time around.
Oh and for the record, I do have a shift kit (installed 6 months before the rebuild) and I am harder on my tranny than the average driver, but I only took it down the track MAYBE a dozen times...
