Suppressor ownership is fairly easy. I set up an NFA trust that permits me to own class 3 weapons.

Umm, no. a .22 LR won't keep your interest for long.

Remington model 700 is damn hard to beat for an accurate shooting rifle. Stay away from the model 710. I have one and its pretty shitty when it comes to the bolt action part of the gun.

Depending if you are 21 have you thought about buying a pistol? Much more fun shooting at the range imo and you can get a chl to carry on person.

Check out the FN-FAL variants. They shoot the same .308 (7.62x51mm) rounds as the M14.

I have a STG-58 so I'm partial to them.

M-14 is good even with zeroed iron sights. I used one in basic, shooting at a max of 350 meters (pop-up silhoettes). They are pricey and may have had many thousands of rounds through them. It shoots the .308 so has a lot of power.

Apples to apples, oranges to oranges. Pistols are, I have one, but love my rifles. Shear power. Its like driving a stock mustang versus a heads/ cam ls1 on the gas. Just the way a big caliber rifle barks when you pull the trigger. It makes you want more.

well dont get that then. ALL guns are lethal, can kill someone just as easy with a 22 as a .300WinMAG. but .22's are good for plinking cans, shooting crows, paper targets, snakes, ranch guns, ect. not for range accuracy. WHOLE opposite end of the spectrum.
also thats an armscor rifle ,and i think they are made in the phillipines or Malaysia or the like, if that matters.

a .308 may be a little much for you to handle comfortably if your looking at .22's. here's a youtube vid of .308 recoil. have you also checked out ammo prices? **** aint cheap.

If you want a weapon just for plinking purposes get a .22 marlin and call it a day. Hell of a lot of fun, easy to shoot, fairly accurate and CHEAP!!!

If you want to go play army without actually doing anything then get an M1 or M14, damn fine weapons.

I disagree with this statement unless you meant to say "long range accuracy". I have a Remington 741 THB with free floating barrell, pillar bedded, a Harris Bipod and a 4-14 X 50MM scope on it that will out perform most shooters capabilities with good RWS match grade ammo. I can fire sub 1" MOA's at both 25 and 50 meter targets and it will hit pretty accurately at 100 meters also.

what would be a good price for a m14? i see anywhere from 1600-2600? Im kinda staying away from handguns since theres a kid in the house, the rifle will be locked up but i figure its harder for a 6 year old to get a rifle without it being noticeable. im sldo hearing good things about the sks rifles for a cheaper entry option

dont be afraid of having a handgun d/t having a child; i have 6 handguns, and a 6y.o frequents being at home... keep out of reach w/o being loaded.

btw passed the NCLEX w/ 75 questions. but it seems like its pretty hard to get an internship right now

The M-14 is a selective fire weapon which requires a government tax stamp to own. The civilian version of the M-14 is the M-1A. Go look at Springfield Armory's web site for them. Make some calls for pricing and then let me know what you want to spend, I might be willing to come down on mine some. You won't find a nicer "used" M-1A I gaurantee it. With only 300 rounds thru it the rifle isn't even broken in yet. If you want extreme accuracy an auto is not the right choice, bolt guns are always more acurate.

M-14 is a selective fire weapon meaning it can fire either semi auto or 1 round at a time or it can be selected to fire fully automatic. The M-1A is semi auto only. The M-1A is the civilian version of the military M-14.
