Default Car has 138K miles on it. Headers good idea?

I'm considering the idea of some mids. Good idea or bad idea with the mileage?

if you are going to do something, don't waste ur time with mids, get a good set of longtubes.

It's never going to hurt but I would sell it and get something with lower miles. If you plan on selling it anytime soon don't do it, if it is just for your personal enjoyment then go for it.

You want me to sell my Trans Am and get something with lower miles?

What if I don't plan on selling it anytime soon? The car looks good and runs great.

What about emissions? I don't know of any longtubes with EGR, etc.

Plus, mids are more in my price range, too.

almost every company makes a set of LT's with EGR provisions, including American Racing.

I contemplated this very move for a very long time. Eventually I wound up saving the money to get LT's with catted y because I knew I would eventually want those over mid's.

Car's going in Monday morning for the LT's, catted y and a tune at G-Force.

I say have patience, save your money, get it done right the first time.

exactly, and a lot of times the mids are more expensive then the LT's, plus the hp gains from LT's will be double that of the mids.

Coated Longtubes with 3in True duals.... /thread

lol. If you like, put together a good but AFFORDABLE package with longtubes with emissions connections, a catted Y-pipe/Y-pipe with cat connections, and anything else I may need.

I bet the installation at G-Force and the tune is a pretty penny.

Haha. Why did you say to get another car?

Oh, yeah? Where at on 518? What car were you in?

I was with my mom going into Golden corral.

It just seems like that is alot of miles to start modding from, but since you have taken good care if it then it shouldn't matter.

The cost is what's to be expected. I just put away money until I had enough to spend (and this was on top of buying a house, paying for a garage floor coating, installing new cabinets in the garage, putting up 2 new expensive maple trees, and buying furniture for the extra rooms!).

Patience is the key.

Well, I already have a few bolt-ons. Headers would be the last thing I'd do. I wouldn't touch the engine after headers.

I'm afraid to go to Golden Corral.

Yeah. That's what I was thinking. My old LT1 Z28 had 193K miles on it when I sold it. I had that car for almost four years.
