Texas law on VHT?

Yep saw two friends get tickets for lights with tinted covers. Police wouldn't let them remove them on the spot, just wrote them a ticket. If you tint them make sure you can easily remove it.

Mine are sprayed with clear and a little black added. Mine are not real dark, so I'm hoping to sneak by. I have had a few officers behind me and have not had a problem, yet. Just a matter of time to get that "right" one behind me.

got mine sprayed so dark you cant tell them from the paint when walking around it. barely light up any at night. have had multiple people pull next to me and tell me the lights were out . just have to watch out for cops and think smart like you dont have lights at all when someone is behind you on their cell phone and not paying attention.

no it's not legal. but out of all the lights that i have tinted for my customers, there has only been one that has told me he was pulled over. that just happened to be a customer that requested i tint them as close as i could to his black paint job. even then, they still lit up pretty good considering. all of the other lights that i do (like the ones i showed you when i picked up the shocks) shine through damn near as bright as factory and cops wont mess with you unless you're driving like an ***. its all about how you prep the lights and how you coat them. coat thickness can make a world of difference in visibility in the end result

VHT is a spray tint that can be used on tail lights, blinkers, etc.

I dont find it at the local stores
I had trouble finding it in may but found that midamerica had some still
JEGS and summit have it listed.
12.95-21.95 a can. I did my 4 tails and 4 side markers on 1 can and still had some left.

lots of o'reillys locations are now carrying them in the new 10 oz. size can. it's $10.99 per can but ya'll need to be careful doing it yourself. it can easily look like **** when you're done
