Default Moving to San Antonio
Hi guys,
My wife and I are planning on moving to San Antonio in the next 3-7 months. I have a 75 vette w/ a 2001 LS1 motor in it (no cats). Does San Antonio or Texas have vehicle inspections or EPA regulations that I might have problems passing? Also I am a Tool and Die Maker, if anyone knows of any job opportunities I would love to hear about them.

inspections yes to a point, emissions, no. If you appear to have cats you should be fine.

i passed the other day with my nitrous bottle showing, long tubes and TSP true duals. Just go to the west side.

I don't have cats. I just went to a small mechanic shop on the south side. Guy told me (in spanish) to honk my horn, flash my lights, and put on my blinkers. After checking these, my insurance, scraping off my old sticker and putting on my new, I was good to go. Whole thing took 5 minutes.

You can register is as a classic and don't have to get it inspected.
Also the car only has to meet requirements for a 1975 model vehicle.

I believe very soon San Antonio will be a non attainment zone. You guys can only get away with being a top 10 city that thinks its small town for so long.

But for now, you basically just have to pass safety and visual OEM smog equipment check, like Duff said.
