So is G-force's dyno the lowest reading dyno in Houston/Pearland?

My car has been on Icon Autosports dyno and a dyno up in maryland and both dynos were within 1rwhp and 2rwtq between the two. Very accurate i would say.

Ok. So what makes them read so close to each other and what are factors which could make them read different from other dynos? There has to be an answer as to why they read differently...theoretically speaking...

I believe calibration is a possible issue as to why one dyno reads high and another reads low.

Theoretically that is the way dynoes should work, it is a machine. Yes, there is going to be variation, but they should be able to keep it within +/- 1%, not the variations we see. It would help if the dyno operators and vehicle owners ran the cars in a consistent manner, same tire pressure, same wheels, coolant temp., etc to limit the reasons for the wide discrepency between dynoes.

Thanks Leo. I can see where those factors would make a difference. My question still remains though. How do our local area dynos compare to each other? Is LMR's higher than G-force's which is higher than Fastlane's? Should I just go dyno at all of them and post results or what? LOL!

It really doesn't matter how much power you make on paper because a dyno is just a tool used to tune a vehicle. The only #'s that matter are on that little time slip

Dyno numbers dont mean squat. Its a tool for tuning. Take it to the track.

This is what I cant seem to understand... Yundastan?

And since dyno numbers "don't mean squat",...why do you guys have "Dyno Days"?

To see how the car is running, IE check the A/F ratio, timing, etc. And to chill with other car guys

I guess I'll stop giving you guys something to think about and just say what my car dynoed at a local Houston area dyno last week. I know now that my number won't mean anything since it seems to be just a "reference only" number as you guys have described the whole dyno experiance.

I'll start another post for that...
