Although a 3k stall is relatively small, I think you will def enjoy it. It is a pretty good match with that cam. Stall was the best mod I did to my car if that says anything.

Here's how I see it. Electronically controlled transmissions shift when the computer tells them to. Putting it in a lower gear tells the computer to not shift beyond that gear. When you then manually shift you are telling the computer that it can now up-shift when it wants to. You are not really shifting the gears. Put it in drive.

Am I wrong?

Now, downshifting for a roll race is different.

when i build u that 6.0 motor,
u gonna need vac. mod 60e, built with 4k stall.ps pump bypass belt
7k wot shift points, just put is D. hold on
problem solved.

Don't just downshift for a roll race.
Give it enough throttle for the computer to kick it down into the gear you want, then keep it in that gear by physically selecting it.

I think most guys downshift for the sound, I will drop it down into 3rd from time to time for the sound or down into second to get around a curve.
