Well given the length of the stroke of the 5.4L.. your limited when going with power due to the inefficiency to entering high RPM. The 5.0 is perfect IMO due to the shorter stroke and bigger bore, allowing the engine to rev higher. Most of the gains are coming from the high compression and volumetric efficency of the heads.. The official announcement is on December 7, 2009. I dont think that we are going in the same direction as the 60's, because our level of reducing emmisions is impressive compared to the old days. I dont think we are going to have the EPA stop producing cars with high HP.

This is true. Also not to mention that an engine can only make so much torque N/A. The more cubes you have the more torque you can make. Ehh. I think this will finally even the playing feilds. For now... Next thing you know chevy gets mad and puts an LS7 in the camaros.

On The Tree
with ease.
i cut my teeth on stangs, still wear my ford racing hat while i drive my vette. gets a lot of looks.
i abandoned the stangs bc the mod motors got to feeling like hondas to me. there was just no potential there unless i dumped a ton of cash into it.. and even still the small bores basically just pissed me off. considering the first motor i ever built had a 4.125" bore, i just never could get over the lack of torque from the 4v's. so i moved on.
i like my vette a lot, but if ford FINALLY steps up their game, my gf is due for a new ride, and we've been shopping..
i'll probably forget more about stangs than most mustang owners will ever know.. i wouldnt mind having access to another one. but the current product just doesnt interest me without an engine swap.

Well the ss I believe it will beat it. As for the Z28... Hell no. That's a monster if it ever goes in production. I would love to see that happen though.

if the genV is released. it will def. change the look of the ls. and bring with it better than ls3 heads with 3 valves and still be OHV pr motor.
the only thing the 2010 ss have to worry about is how long wil it take to the the sc available
