Everyone at the bar I was in could not believe what they heard, even the Machida fans, like myself. If Dana White does not fix this he has severely hurt the credibility of the sport and the UFC. I would hate to see the UFC go the way of boxing.
I really believe it was to set up the Machida/Silva fight.........to help build up the hype a bit...same result here...Machida was declared the winner and the whole Bar was like "WTF" I'm a fan of Machida but think Rua won that one

ya i was going for machida but couldnt believe he won. im trying to figure out now since lyoto won, who the hell will he fight? rampage retired, he already killed evans..............maybe the DEAN OF MEAN KEITH JARDINE!!!!!lol but seriously, i dont know who the hell he can fight now. I guess it will be the winner between couture and vera

Shogun has a more aggressive style to it may seem to the untrained eye he won the fight by alot but knowing Machidas style thats not the case. Shogun didnt do enough to win the fight. He landed more leg kicks but Machida still landed more counter punches. Shogun definitely won the fight. Who gives a flying flip if Machida and Silva don't want to fight. I think it's completely 
how all this **** goes in the UFC, as well as, many other fighing promotions. It's their job to fight. If the UFC tells them to fight, they need to fight...it is their job. If a DB is covering a Receiver and they are friends, do you think they can just tell the coach, "I don't want to cover him, he is my friend and I don't want to hinder him from scoring"...or vice versa? I've wrestled and boxed my whole life, I fought many friends. No hard feelings, was just doing what I was told to do. Afterwards, we'd go out and party as always.

jardine just got beat by tiago silva... and machida already knocked tiago out...now maybe tiago and rashad could fight for number #1 contender but as of right now shogun and machida need to just rematch and see what happens then... but they may give #1 spot to vera if he runs over coture... who knows only time will tell.
