Default Squeeling Coming From Brakes

So today as I was on my way to school, I noticed the car was now making a really bad grinding sound as I stopped. And as I take off it makes a sound like if something is rubbing up against the rotor... like "kshhhh........kshhhh.......kshhhh". So after school I put the car on jack stands, take off the wheels, and nothing looks out of the ordinary, checked the brake pads, and they are good, checked the rotors for cracks and they are good, brake fluid is good... It just started doing this out of the blue, it had never done it before.

I ran it for a few miles, and now my brake is really soft...

Any ideas on what could be causing the noise?

Thanks!

you should turn the rotor while you car is up so make that noise again and see if you can figure it out

I did, and while it was up it wasn't making the noise when I'd spin it.

It's still making the noise... It's only on the front, on the right side.

Is there rust on the rotor? or was there?

When I have rust on my rotors the make kinda a grinding noise for a few miles, when applying the brake, and you caliper might be dragging, it does this due to the square gasket inside the caliper wears out and doesn't pull the pad back.

YOu can rebuild the caliper or buy a new one, or pick up a used one on here for cheap.

It's a high pitch sound. People can hear it over my exhaust, and that says a lot cause my car is obnoxiously loud...

I guess if it comes down to it, I'll just have to get a new caliper. I didn't want to have to waste any money due to me being in tough times right now, which is why I chose to inspect it myself rather than taking it to a shop...

you may want to check your clips that hold your brake pads. Maybe the rub when you hit the brake

The scraping noise happens when the car is moving, the grinding noise happens when I stop.

did you hit anything recently or have you messed with your brakes recently ?

It may the the metal that houses the rotor , I think there is one on the front. I know for sure there are some in the rear . It may have gotten bent out of place

When you take off your wheel again, inspect your hub. It probably isn't that, but just throwing that out there on things to check off. Might be a warped rotor. How old are the brakes?

hey man if your turn your rotors make sure they aren't too thin because if you machine them even thinner you will get a wobble when you brake, and if that happens and you run on wobbly rotors too long you will mess up your front alignment. Assuming your front rotors are too thin

The only things I've done myself on the car is oil changes, and the suspension. The brakes almost look new. I had bought new ones because I thought they were worn out as well and rubbing metal against metal. Turned out they are not worn out...

The rotors seem fine to me. I was thinking yesterday that it might be because I haven't aligned the car yet, after lowering it. Could this be/have caused the problem?
