Default college build

lmk what you think or if you can offer up suggestions or cheaper parts..

also what is the going rate to hot tank a block and get it line honed as well as install new cam bearings

or would this rotating assem. be better. btw. this is a super budget college build.
i plan to arp the bottom end.. mains and with that kit the rods are also arp'd. would this not be a good setup? if i run nitrous it would only be a 100shot.. thats a big if..

would this not be a reliable cam only setup?

im going to run the cc306 and do ported heads later on. before anyone tries to talk me out of it.. i already ran this cam in my old car and loved it..

I built a cast 383 gen 1
I regret it now

go forged pistons for spray for sure at least. 100 will become 125 then 150
the urge keeps growing

you want a honest opinion? there is no such thing as building a car on a budget. If you're in college and have a budget, then you don't need to be building a car. Maintain it, fix what needs to be fixed and save your money for that 396. Small parts add up fast and there is always unseen problems that arise.

There are some KB forged pistons that are good for a budget and cheap

I think the part number is like L2256 or something like that

That is close to the motor I built between my freshman and sophmore year. Stock bottom end with CC306. I love it, I was gonna spray it too but don't want to risk blowing it up now that I am broke.
