well last night i picked up my first z06 from a guy in tomball. this morning i decided to take the car too school so im driving along to pick up my girlfriend and everything seems to be going great. as soon as i pick her up and make a few turns through the neighborhood immediately it sounds like i just went from a full corsa exhaust to straight longtube headers so im like wtf and pull over to find one of my corsa tips hanging off. the clamp that goes over the rear end got loose and popped of the muffler. i had to go back home and fix the clamp, then we both had to change, and i was also late to class. not a good way to start off my first semester, but i still have a z06 in my garage so i feel much better

anybody else have any embaressing moments with there car?

 

that's the worst day of college ever? man you have lived a tame life! (glad your ok and the car still runs)

Haha that's what I was thinking lol. Sux either way but still could be worse! At least you have a z06 lol. About the most embarrassing thing for me was when I had to move my car at my apartment in front of a bunch of friends (girls and guys), new friends at that. So I start the car and it barely ran, sounded like a massive vacuum leak and it was backfiring like a ****. I could barely keep it idling and that is hard to do with 3 pedals lol. It was a random event for my car and that was the first and last time it's done that thank God. They briefly gave me a hard time but that was it...

 

My starter crapped out last semester. I drove to the other side of campus to the police station and parked (illegally-technically) in a different lot to get a parking permit for my dorm lot.
Came back with permit and car would not move. Had to call UPD to assist but they couldnt do much.
Next day, had a nice little ticket saying I was parked in the wrong lot. Wooo!
lmao.
Took a few days before I could move the car to where it needed to be.

 

Car-wise, my worst day of college was every single day I went to college. I drove a 10-year old shitbox Nissan Pulsar during college, so your open exhaust Corvette story pales in comparison.

ok dont laugh guys.. when i had my 1996 grand am gt (wohooo) with a great 3.1L and 155hp (wohoo) i was on a date with my gf, and i was messing with a 24v dohc ford taurus. we got to a light and i said watch this babe. well, little did i know they had 200hp.. he peeled out and left me by like 4 cars to 70. most embarrassing moment of my life. now i drive the ws6 and rape fords all the time to make up for it

I pulled up last year after changing my cam and intake on my sbc gen 1 and turns out my new valve covers didnt seal well. parked and smoke streams put from under the hood. cop asked if everything was alright. I just told him yeah and let it sit

Boy do I love my spooled rear end and shitty studs .

man thats nothing i hit a small divider (for the turning lane it suppose to be yellow but the paint was off and i did'nt see it and i was completely sober) in galveston and got a flat tire and bent two rims on my prom night with my date in the car. when i put on the spare it was flat also. had to have someone come get us. lol ruined the whole night.

 

I went to jail! HA!

 

You know what my worst first day of school was? Coming home to read how some other college kid is driving a Z06 to school.....

 

My best college story:

My buddy who i sold my old firebird to nailed a tree with it last year. I than had to help him get his wrecked car towed back to the campus parking lot in front of everybody. Of course everyone in the school probably though we were street racing and couldn't keep it under control... which i don't think is cool.

Plus i get made fun of when my car pops out of reverse and grinds when i back up, and how my car has trouble getting up gentle inclines whenever it snows.

Ummm... well for the last 4 months, my piece of **** has been sitting in my driveway, driven 100 miles tops, with donuts for wheels.

So I guess pretty much anytime someone comes over, its embarrasing.

 

lol i just turned 19 when i turned 16 i had a green 79 malibu that my dad owns now but at that time he built my a small 355 cubic inch motor with some world product heads,small cam,3500 converter and a 150 shot. we ended up getting that budget motor to run 10.40's on a small shot and mid 11's on motor.from there i moved over to a 2000 silverado which i still have at this time. it had all the bolt on's with a pat g cam,prc5.3's,circle D 4c,and also a 150 shot. we got that set up to run 11.49 and i am now in the process of putting it back together with a 370cu,borge warner s475 front mount,custom turbo cam,cal trac's, and some bogart d10's! after that i got a stock 2000 camaro with a **** load of mile for 3500$. we put my prc heads off the truck,all the bolt on's,circle d verter and a 231/234 and ran 11.40's with it.after that camaro is when i got a 99 ss clone camaro with 34k on the clock for 8500$ and ended up selling it for 12.5 .that car ran 11.08@121 which was full suspension,H/C/I. Then i found this z06 02 49k,ls2,l92 heads,ls3 intake,pat g cam,arh 1 7/8 headers,full bolt on's,corsa exhaust, put down 475rwhp and the whole motor has 2k on it. pick the car up for around 18k so that is what i consider a deal!

my dad is a mechanic so that kinda explains why i go thru vehicles alot and the fact that i have made around 5grand of profeit everytime i buy a car and sell it later.he has a few toys such as 2 69 camaros,2 79 malibu's one with a 468bb w/2 kits and my old 79 malibu with a 406sb,my old 2000 h/c camaro,96 impala ss with around 30k on it,elcamino with a little 383... some good toys that we never drive!

p.s. so far that was the worst thing the has happened to me on my FIRST day of college semester because this is my second semester
