Default 07 GMC Sierra problem Need help!!!

Ok I have a new body style 07 GMC sierra with a 4.3 V6. On my way home from work today the Temp gauge went all the way to the cold mark like it isn't reading at all and an "Engine Hot A/C turned Off" code came across the dash where the trip setting is. Now what is causing this? I know the engine is not hot. The truck as been sitting out side for the last hour and half and it is still saying this. What is going on? Any GM techs know what this is and how do I fix it?

Never understood the point of a V6 in a full size truck, but, I digress. Could it be one of the temp sensors misreading? check your t-stat as well. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

usually a p0116 or a p0128 will set. its eaither the engine coolant temp sensor (p0116) or the thermostat opertaing below regulating temperature (p0128) if its under 100k mile i would take it in to the dealership and more than likely it is covered under powertrain warranty.

That is what I was thinking it was operating below regulating temp. Back when it was real cold out the heater stopped working for about 30 minutes like it wasn't opening up the Thermastat or something.

My 07 Chevrolet did the same thing "Engine hot/ AC off", turns out it was because of a cooler T-Stat I installed, I had Mike at G-Force turn off the code in the ecu and have had no problems since.
