I am curious about something though. What does it matter if the guy did it in Texas or Florida? If he hit 253 before the mile marker and it was verified by the GPS, why is it going to be magically different in Texas. I am not trying to talk **** I am honestly curious about the difference. To me it seems as though some are making excuses because someone they know or are fans of lost/ got beat. There is always someone faster.

I was just horsing around. I know that it wasn't an apples to apples comparison.

Mod motors don't seem to get a whole lot of credit, they are huge, have timing chains that equal the underground rail road in distance and with out boost, well, lets not go there. How ever, right chassis, right power adder, they hurt some feelings. So I've done some calculations, expert calculations as a matter of fact, and have come up with the following.
Mod Motors On Boost = 8=======D
Ford GT = (l)
Thus, 8=======D + ( l ) = Win.

why should they come to Texas? I'd love for a Texas car to be fastest but they could say SW should have gone to Florida to run against them? That argument makes no sense.
as for 260, did you see the video? that car has a lot left it in if it in fact went 253 on that run.
heck, even SW didnt make any excuses when he saw the speed...he just said he would try to do his best in Goliad

When has SW ever made an excuse, and why would he? That isn't his style...
It is a bad bitch for sure, but it's hard to compare records that weren't obtained in the exact same fashion. If he did this at the Texas mile no one would second guess it. That's just how it is. I don't really care either way, but at least understand why people are skeptical...
Why was the GT turning left the whole time btw, or was the gps / logger overlay fuxed?

but both run official time setups now... why does one have to go across country to get credibility when they can do it there?
why can't texas people go there if it is that much easier to run?

id say **** it, line them up old school style and see who wins lol. Texas has its champ and so does florida. So why dose it need to be in texas to be offcial? Hell the supra run had a tail wind so it had a advantage lol. IMHO untill GM guys build a 250+ mph vette we should really stfu. V8's still rule the world end of story.. Oh and I dont want to hear well blah blah made 10,000 hp with stock pistons built in 97. Every body with some sense knows that a 1k+ hp motor requires some type of prep to live. Can a stock ls1 make 900 hp? Why yes, spray the **** out of it But you only have one tinme to do it lmao.
