We bought our house almost 4 years ago with a pool. Last year had it redone with flagstone and pebble tec. Also converted to salt. The up keep isn't much and is worth every dime. Hot summer days get off work and out the back door and into the pool. Hot tubs just make the chics exhibitionist.... don't know why but they do
I know a guy that does outstanding one of a kind amazing brickwork for pools and outside patios and fireplaces. If your interested il send you his number. He has been in business forever now.
Pool I have a pool,,,,,Salt is the only way to go..10 times easier to maintain and 100 times easier on your eyes, hair etc etc Chlorine flat sux. The pool is fine if that is your thing but if you dont swim its a time consuming pain in the *** money pit. I would not build another one unless your part seal.
I guess ill start having to make cold calls to find out pricing.

eyes burning is from improper PH, not chlorine. 
pools are nice, but you will loose 50% value as soon as you break ground.
So if your never gonna move, and you think you will use it, go for it. They are work, and they do cost money, but they can be a lot of fun.
my brother has one and uses borax, that water is even better then salt.
