I'm going to take a course on programing this summer, i have heard that it is not easy. I do 3d mechanical modeling and i think thats the next step into making my own parts.

Yea from what I understand it's pretty complicated. But once you get it figured out you'll be good to go. You can pick up used CNC machines pretty cheap sometimes if you get lucky. Then you have to buy the aluminum billets and those are some $$
