Default Show car license/permit

Does anyone know if Texas has a show car registration/permit. I know in Arkansas you can register your car as a show car and then you are good to go on things like tint, exhaust, emissions etc. There is a mileage limit (like 7500 miles or something) but my car gets driven at most 2000 miles a year anyway.

Anyone heard of this in Texas?

I'd be interested in knowing this as well, since I didn't put over 500 miles on it last year. Also, my computer doesn't talk with the state's computer anymore for some reason, so the registration is out of date. If there was something like this, and it didn't require an inspection, I'd be all over it.

Its called antique registration. Good for 5 years, no inspection. Otherwise I dont know of anything like that. Unless your car is 30 years or older then you got a long time to wait to do this.

I'm getting the idea that this permit they are talking about is about as real as snipe hunting is. Just my opinion though
