Default Does this **** you off or am i in the wrong?

Alright i was going to buy some parts from a guy in here in another state. I asked him a few ?s about the parts to make sure they were what i needed. In the end they were so i told him to p.m. me his paypal info and i would send him the money as soon as i got off work. He send me the p.m. so i was going to do just that.
About 10 min ago i get a pm saying he sold them locally. I understand first come with money first serve but we agreed that i was paying him after i got off. I dont know maybe im wrong, its just not how i sell. i guess thats why i have alot more trader rating than his 3+

sorry for the short story lol just trying to vent.

you have to think of it from a sellers perspective, the goal is to sell items as fast as possible and yes yall did have an agreement but what if yalls deal was to fall through. Then he would have to find another buyer to sell to. So he sold them locally because the guy most likely had cash and the deal was made and he had the guaranteed sell. It sucks but he was just looking out for his best interests.

Most people will opt to sell them locally if given the choice. Much easier transaction, shitty but it has happened to me on other boards.

Truthfully, I offer it locally to buddies first, then if no bites I post it.

Honestly, I can't really fault him on that. I'd be miffed/disappointed if I were in your position, but think about it from his perspective. He's got a guy right in front of him with cash vs. some guy on the internet who is supposed to pay him later that day, then he has to mess with shipping. Not saying you weren't going to pay, just saying he doesn't know you from Adam.

Given the choice, I'll make a local sale any day.

I think an agreement had been made and he should have sold it to you. I've had this happen to me also, on this board.

it really is annoying, but if your the seller and have some one coming at you with cash to put in your hand its sorta an easy call, even more so if local buy is willing to throw an extra 20. **** it, why not?

I'm not bashing the guy I understand it's easier not to ship It and dick with paypal. It's just whatever. If I send my paypal to someone that means they are getting the part unless they fall through. Just curious on what y'all thought about it and how many times it happned to y'all

I have to disagree guys. If a guy tells you that's it's a deal, you have an agreement. Now if you dicked around and didn't pay pal him by that night, like you said you would, different story......had that happen to me. But I PM'd and said you didn't honor your part of the deal, sold the parts, and never even got a reply PM........kind of a gray area to some but not to me, your money is just as good as the next guys.

The world is pretty fucked up these days with people screwing each other over, and all kinds of weird **** going on....to me all a man has really is his word, and it should be his bond, at least that's how I treat people......

Not flaming the dude, just saying, he should have done what he said, and sold you the parts as agreed.

"Putting my flame suit on now".. .....

Moneys money. I HATE using paypal, fees, easily get screwed, etc. I don't blame him for selling locally. Its cash. If i am selling **** on a forum, first to send money gets the parts period.

had a similar situation with someone on the board with a set of headers. its VERY annoying. i understand money is money, but unless youre some sort of meth addict, you shouldn't need the cash so fast as to undersell a part after an agreement has been made, period. if you had beat around the bush, then yes, i can see how selling it to someone local makes more sense. otherwise, he should have kept up his part of the bargain

I have had alot of "deals" here where I wait for guys to paypal me money and in the end the excuse is "something came up and I won't be able to get it anymore". I'm done with all that, It's a first come first serve basis. As a seller, and you can see my trader rating.. I no longer hold parts for guys unless they are local. If a person asks for me to hold it till the weekend I just say I can't do it. If someone wants me to hold it for a day then yeah I go by his trader ratings and his time here on tech. The guys with more posts and years here are less prone to leave you hanging. Bump or a first come first serve basis!

I can't blame the guy, but the courteous thing would've been waiting to see if you pay. He should have told the local guy a sale is pending, and if it fell through then they're next in line.

I'd probably be a little pissed if I were in your shoes, but I can't completely blame the guy either...
