Ok, my truck had a high interest rate since I had bad credit when I got it. My credit has since improved so I got this car at more than 10% LESS than the interest I was paying on the truck. Yea I had to take a slight hit to accrue the negative of the truck but like Ross said, my truck already had 100k and I drive about 100 miles a day to work and back. The payments on the car are actually a little less than what I paid on the truck and my insurance is the same. So far I am averaging 10 mpg more than I did in the truck so my family and I are content with it.

Thanks for caring so much.

Congrats on the new purchase Randy....Those Malibu LTZ's are pretty nice and do get great gas mileage. I seen some guys tuning them and running decent times.

American cars and resale value don't go together well.

no cars have a good resale value. Not just american cars. unless you deal in older cars you will most likely loose money if you buy anything new.

With that said, I will state my opinion that Japanese cars are overpriced (new and used) because of the long running myth they are more reliable.
