I think this goes beyond a "stage," this is really just a result of pure stupidity in the highest form. I totally understand that teenagers go through phases, but this is just rediculous.
I'm sorry but this is nowhere near normal, and the fact that people/parents actually consider this just a "stage" their going trough is the reason why our society is getting increasingly worse with every generation.
By the way, I am 23 with NO kids, and strongly feel that the lack of physical and mental discipline in today's society is why there are so many psycho's running around doing incredibly crazy/dumb ****....

I dunno, I think the mom has a point. If that's the worst they are doing then they are pretty blessed. It sounds like they (at least the dude with the long hair and collar) don't really cause trouble and are pretty decent students. I was a skateboarder when I was in Jr. High and High School (96-02, before it was "cool" to be one, haha) and everyone thought my friends and I were trouble makers because of our long hair and baggy clothes. But in reality we were good kids, no mixups with the law, no drug use, we got good grades. We just wanted to skate, that's all. My parents thought I looked weird with the hair and clothes, but they knew they raised me right so they were pretty supportive.

did u miss the part where one of them killed a dog and boiled its skull? btw that girl has entire collection of animals she "found dead" that she boiled their skeletons and has a collection of animal bones or some ****. these kids are ******* nuts. they need a good *** kicking BY THEIR PARENTS and could probably benefit from boarding school or private school. and there's no way you can tell me these kids haven't experimented with drugs. i bet half of them have done at least tabs or bars or beans or what have you. they just aren't going to admit it on tv.
cops say
they cant prove she killed the dog....
but she did have the skull in her possession....
she wanted it bc it was "cool"
hey few years back in my high school we had "vampires"
and they would suck on each others blood...
lol
crazy stuff huh?

BTW, I'm not saying that this some totally awesome fad or anything. I think it's retarded and I think that this kind of stuff shouldn't be allowed in schools. You can express yourself freely at home if you want, but leave it off the campuses. Also, the person who had a dog skull needs to be taken to have a mental evaluation. I completely, 100% agree that something is wrong with that child. My main point was this; *some* of these people seem to be ok kids. They haven't had any run-ins with the law or school authorities, that one with the long hair looks to be perfectly respectable to his mother and abides by her rules while in her house. Yea, there are a few who have issues and I'm mainly looking at the psycho who had a dogs head found in their possession and was seen on the news wielding some huge friggin' sword/knife/cleaver. The rest are probably just sheep to the fad and they will get over it once they grow up.

"Rennie" Geek Lesson:
The tails are worn with Garb (1) at Rennaissance Faires and are actually a Rennie (2) tradition. If you research "Rennie" culture and customs, you'll see that most Rennies have at least one tail that they pair with their Garb. If you're wearing them with normal clothes, though, then yes, you're crazy! lol.
1 - Garb: Period appropriate attire (or costumes) worn by avid Renaissance Festival playtrons (aka "Rennies") and participants (Ex: King Richard, The Bellydancers, Jousting Knights, etc) while in attendance at any given Faire.
2 - Rennie: A person who is not actually employed by the Renaissance Faire that they attend, and is in no way compensated or rewarded for dressing up in Garb while at a Faire. Rennies are people who are usually History buffs, Sci Fi Nerds, etc, and love to dress as Pirates, Gypsies, Historically-accurate Nobility, etc. Rennies usually camp at the Faires they attend (TRF is the best example), and have huge bonfires with active loud music, dancing, and an overabundance of alcohol (including "Loki" which is a Rennie drink- basically any flavor imaginable mixed with Everclear)
- I, for example, have a pirate outfit (corset, skirt, daggers, flintlock, boots and hat)and wear a fox tail on my belt in the back (moreso to keep my skirt from flying up in the wind!), along with my flask of Rum

I didn't miss it, no. But just because one or two of the kids is nucking futs doesn't mean the rest are. Case-in-point, one of my friends' sister was crazy. She would bring bags of cows blood to school and toss them on people at lunch. She wasn't a vegan, she was just nuts. She even came to school once with a live bird nailed to a wooden, upside down cross on her backpack. The poor thing was screeching all down the hallway until a security guard escorted her to the on campus police station. Does that mean that everyone else was as nuts in our group? Heck no, this chick was psycho and we all knew it. We didn't tell her to *uck off because we didn't want to be found nailed to a cross either.
Bottom line, these kids are fucked up...And the fact that this is going on in several schools is UNBELIEVABLE....These kids parent's should also have their asses beat brutally....

Yeah, that's nuts. I agree, their parents need to step in and do something or even get professional (mental) help. This sounds like it could definitely lead to violent acts; if animals have already been killed, what's to keep them from moving on to people next?
If they were just being emo kids and dressing weird (which is normal for Emos anyway..guys in girl pants, girls looking like guys with unisex haircuts), I'd say no harm no foul; but this doesn't sound like it's in any way "harmless", at least in the more extreme cases mentioned...
((But regarding my first post: I don't want these kids to be confused with Rennies...Rennies are people who just like to party at Faires and drink and wear Renaissance Festival garb with maybe a tail as part of the costume - Rennies are not Emo kids who kill animals and pretend to be anything, wolves included! ))

Yea but did the other people in your group wear fake tails and fangs. And claim to be "warewolves"????

I agree. If it's not hurting anyone, then who cares? Kids usually look stupid or fall for crazy fads; it's just part of that point in their life. I tried the Goth/Punk thing for a long time and hung out with all the Skaters; but we didn't do drugs or hurt anyone/thing. I look back now and go, "Dude! (lol) I looked so stupid!" but at the time, it was just a way to try and fit in with a group of possibly likeminded people. That time in your life is so awkward; it's just a matter of trying to doggy paddle upstream and keep your head above water until you finally grow up and learn to be yourself and a confident adult.
But..to be clear: the kids who cut up animals and carry around skulls - mental help needed. The other kids who didn't do anything wrong - weird, but I can sympathize with their situations and think for the most part, they're alright.
